Born in 1892 in Stafford, England. When he attested into to 15th Battalion on September 19, 1914 as a Corporal, he had served 5 years in the 48th Regiment Highlanders. He listed his occupation as chemist. He was taken prisoner at 2nd Ypres on 24 April 1915.
