Whether you’re visiting in person or exploring from home, this page gives you a quick overview of how the tour works and lets you browse or filter the displays to create your own personalized experience. If you’re at the museum, this digital guide will help you find and understand each display better. If you’re browsing from home, enjoy learning more about the history, people, and artifacts of the 48th Highlanders at your own pace.

If you are visiting the museum in person, plan to spend about five minutes per display.

How to use the tour app

  • Tap or click a display ‘card’ below to view details.
  • Each display screen includes:
    • One or more photos of the display.
    • A brief introduction to the topic or theme.
    • A list of artifacts each with a link to more information. We have Recommended the more interesting artifacts for you.
    • Directions to help locate the display in the museum (if you’re on-site).
  • For selected displays, we offer optional links to take a deeper dive into the subject.
