Pte William Ronald Dafoe

Private DAFOE, WILLIAM RONALD

Pte Dafoe was killed during the first day of the attack toward the Rimini Line. Their advance was overlooked by a German Observation post code named Kestrel  which directed artillery and Spandau Machine Guns at their advance and hasty slits.

NOK: Son of Grant H. and Jessie M. Dafoe, of Havelock, Ontario, Canada.

I am grateful to the 48th Highlanders Museum for its existence, it provides a home for the members of the regiment. You and your volunteers have done an amazing job with Private Dafoe’s artifacts.
