Major J. C. Maynard, VD

Shortly after war was declared in September 1939 Major J. C. Maynard joined the 2nd Battalion, 48th Highlanders in Toronto and is shown in a 1940 newspaper article as one of the 52 officers of the 2nd Battalion who were training for service in the Second World War. Maynard served in the First World War with the 15th Battalion, 48th Highlanders as a medical officer. He had enlisted with the 92nd Battalion, 48th Highlanders in 1915.  (more research tbd)
