Commanding Officer 2021 – 2024
LCol Morische enrolled in the Canadian Armed Forces as an Infantry Officer in 1997 with the 48th Highlanders of Canada. During his service, LCol Morische completed the full suite of Regimental postings, from rifle platoon commander to commanding officer. Additionally, LCol Morische completed advanced courses including: the Advanced Tactics and Operations Course, Dismounted Company Commander’s Course, Army Operations Course, and the Joint Command and Staff Course.
Over the years, LCol Morische instructed on a wide range of army and infantry courses, including: Qualification Level 2 and 3 Infantry, Basic Military Officer Qualification, Intelligence Operator, and the Dismounted Company Commander’s Course (both as directing staff and as the Lead Mounting Unit Commanding Officer). From 2021 until 2024, LCol Morische served as the 4th Canadian Division Army Reserve Infantry Senior Standards Officer, advising on training matters with division staff.
From April to December 2010, LCol Morische deployed on Operation Athena, TF 1-10, with the Operational Mentor Liaison Team to Panjwai District in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan. Originally employed as the Intelligence and Operations Officer Mentor, it was upon arrival in Afghanistan that LCol Morische was tasked to be the Rifle Company Commander Mentor lead for Kandak Mentor Team 2. In this role, LCol Morische led combat operations with partnered Afghan National Army and NATO forces throughout the district.
LCol Morische has had the pleasure of participating in both international and national collective training events including: EX MAPLE RESOLVE at the Canadian Maneuver Training Center as the Operations Officer for the 32 Light Infantry Battalion; and on EX STALWART GUARDIAN 14 where he was the OC of F Coy 48 HIGHRS BG.
From 2023 until 2024 LCol Morische was the commanding officer of the 32 Territorial Battle Group, an organization tasked to assist with domestic emergencies and/or natural disasters.
Of great Regimental significance, in 2022 LCol Morische led the Regimental contingent to London to honour the passing of our Colonel-in-Chief, Queen Elizabeth II. He and four members of the Regiment participated and marched in the state funeral to mark the solemn occasion.
LCol Morische studied at the University of Toronto, Trinity College, where he received his Honours Bachelor of Arts and Masters of Arts in political science and conflict management. Following this, LCol Morische attended Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto, and is now a member of the Law Society of Ontario as a barrister. As a practicing lawyer, LCol Morische worked for eight years as criminal defence counsel and since 2012 has served as Crown Counsel for the Public Prosecution Service of Canada where he prosecutes financial and narcotics offences. LCol Morische is married to Nanda Morische and has two children: Julien and Delphine.
