The War Diaries of the 1st Battalion, 48th Highlanders of Canada from their recruitment date in Sept 1939 to May 1943, up to their departure from Scotland in June 1943 to the Landings at Pachino, Sicily. The period in England includes training at Aldershot, a brief Foray to France in 1940, and further training and roles as coastal defence troops.
