The War Diaries  of the 1st Battalion, 48th Highlanders of Canada from July 1943 to August 1945 are in hard copy in Box 33B. The attached pdf has the War Diaries from 10 July 1943, the day after the landings at Pachino, Sicily, to 28 January 1945 when the battalion was between the Lamone and Senio Rivers in northern Italy. The battalion, as part of the 1st Canadian Division,  would be pulled out of battle in Italy the next month to transfer in early March through France to complete the liberation of The Netherlands.
