Prince William meeting Canadian troops at Pirbright Camp

MCpl Graham Robertson, in balmoral, talks with Prince William, Prince of Wales at Pirbright Camp in the days before the funeral and ceremony of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

MCpl Robertson and four other 48th Highlanders, Commanding Officer LCol Jason Morrische, CD, RSM (CWO) C, Reesor, CD, Cpl Scarlino of the Pipes and Drums and 2Lt Outram-Kuzma were the Regiment’s official representatives.

Her Majesty was the Colonel-in-Chief of the 48th Highlanders, an appointment HM accepted in Oct 1947 when Princess Elizabeth. This appointment, and that of the Seaforth Highlanders of Canada and the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders in Scotland, were the first appointments accepted as Colonel-in-Chief. The 48th Highlanders thus was privileged to have Her Majesty as Colonel-in-Chief for 75 years.
