These 48th Highlanders, plus RSM (CWO) C, Reesor, CD, and the Commanding Officer, LCol Jason Morrische, CD,represented the 48th Highlanders of Canada at the funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in 2022.
Her Majesty was the Colonel-in-Chief of the 48th Highlanders, an appointment HM accepted in Oct 1947 when Princess Elizabeth. This appointment, and that of the Seaforth Highlanders of Canada and the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders in Scotland, were the first appointments accepted as Colonel-in-Chief. The 48th Highlanders thus was privileged to have Her Majesty as Colonel-in-Chief for 75 years.
