Press Release 48th Highlanders To Hold Re-Union

Gala Reunion and welcome home to all former members of the Regiment, to be held in Toronto on 2nd, 3rd and 4th of June 1961.

Friday June 2nd, members will meet at the Old Comrades Association Club Rooms.

Saturday afternoon, June 3rd the Regiment will “Troop the Colour” at the Canadian National Exhibition Stadium and be inspected by General Sir Neil M. Ritchie KCB KBE DSO MC. Following the Troop a Gala Re-Union Dinner will be held at University Ave. Armouries under the chairmanship of Brigadier Ian S. Johnston CBE DSO Ed.

Sunday June 4th will finalize the Re-Union with a combined veterans and Regimental parade to the 48th War Memorial at Queens Park where it is expected His Honour The Lieutenant-Governor Keiller MacKay DSO VD QC LLD DCL will unveil the Battle Honours inscribed on the south side of the monument.
