“Mike” George

LCol Michael E. George, CD was an officer in the 1st Battalion, 48th Highlanders of Canada for Sicily, Italy and The Netherlands, rising to the rank of Major. He was one of the few who served for all the Second War campaigns of the regiment. Upon return to Canada, Major George rejoined the home battalion. He became Commanding Officer for 1949 to 1952.
