48th Highlanders Parade Postcard – c1910s

Colourized postcard of 48th Highlanders marching down a street in downtown Toronto, two rail tracks are visible embedded in the street, likely for streetcars, soldiers in full dress uniform with red tunics, kilts, and tall black bonnet feather hats, near the bottom left printed in black is: “48th Highlanders, Toronto, Canada”, and near the bottom right printed in black is: “105,772. JV”. Back of postcard is not used and has no writing, although faded, printed in the top and centre is the company logo “V & SONS” on two globes, above and below it are the words: “FAMOUS THROUGHOUT THE WORLD”, and on the left and right are the words: “POST CARD.”, further below the card is divided in half by a printed straight line, on the right of the top of the line is printed the words: “Address Only”, in the top left diagonally printed is the word “Correspondence”, in the top right is printed a rectangle to mark space for a postage stamp. Also printed on the back left side vertically are: “The Valentine & Sons’ Publishing Co., Ltd.   Montreal and Toronto   Printed in Great Britain”
