General Sir Ian Hamilton GCB, GCMG, DSO,  in glengarry and trews addresses the 48th Highlanders 1st Battalion at the 50th Anniversary parade of the 48th Highlanders of Canada at Redhill, Surrey, England on  12 October, 1941.  On his left is LCol W. W. Southam, Commanding Officer of the 1st Battalion, 48th Highlanders. General Hamilton, of the Gordon Highlanders, was Honourary Lieutenant Colonel of the 48th Highlanders from 1911 to 1947.
