the number was restricted for the first contingent and the following 48th Highlanders were allowed to go:
“A” company – Col. Sgt A.R. MacGregor, Cpl. J.A. Smith, Ptes. Whitehead, Weller, Mitchell and MacPherson
“B” Company – Pte. J.D. Spence
“C” Company – Ptes. G.M. Smith, Hornibrook
“D” Company – Ptes. A.C, MacKenzie, McNish
“E” Company – Sgt. W.H. Grant
“G” Company – Col.Sgt. Lorsh, Ptes. Dunham, Blain
“H” Company – Cpls. Hopeson, Banton, Ptes. Baldwin and Morley
