Lt Col Warren has been my Personal Assistant since January 1944. He’s acted as my personal Liaison Officer with First Canadian Army and been of great value to me in keeping me closely informed of the operations of that Army. This has not always been easy, especially as the Canadian Army has been at times 150 miles in rear of my Main HQ across country which had not bean cleared of enemy. In addition he has played a prominent part in the day to day work at my Tac HQ and has contributed largely to ensure the smooth running of its organization. His reliability and devotion to duty have been outstanding. (signed) BL Montgomery, Field Marshal
