Vimy Ridge Memorial Unveiling – Trip Itinerary

Blue cardstock trip itinerary by Thomas Cook & Son of pilgrimage to the unveiling of the Vimy Ridge War Memorial on July 26th, 1936, as this trip was arranged by them, with information in the document printed with black ink including details such as: modes of transport, departure dates and times from different locations, food and lodging, and various travel tips such as warnings for conduct when visiting battle sites. The trip dates as arranged for by Thomas Cook & Son was from Saturday, July 25th with disembarkation from a ship at Le Havre, France, and ending on Saturday, August 1st with breakfast in London. On the bottom left corner of each page of information in the itinerary is a page number, and on the bottom right of the cover is a the company name printed as: “THOS. COOK & SON, LTD”.

The itinerary was included in the Miller family collection. LCol Armour Miller of the 134th Battalion (48th Highlanders) had been killed in action with the 19th Battalion in WWI.
