Damage caused by stray Boche Shell. French ladies congratulate 15th Battalion on their escape. August, 1917 P1163
The battalion had moved into Les Brebis, the brigade’s reserve position on 3 August, to prepare for their role in the assault on Hill 70 twelve days later. German artillery, searching for battery targets, dropped a 5.9-inch shell through the orderly room wall. Fortunately, as it was night, there were no casualties.
