Standards of 48th Highlanders Chapter IODE

Two Standards of the Union Jack held in a wooden mount. A framed charter crest of the 48th Chapter IODE is centered at eye level between the two Standards.  The standards of the 48th Highlanders Chapter IODE were laid up in the Regimental Museum by Vi Fletcher, standard-bearer, assisted by Mrs. Marjorie Harding on 3 May 1987. Mrs. R. S. Wilson had presented the Standards at the inaugural meeting of the 48th Chapter in 1907. Vi Fletcher was appointed standard-bearer in 1940, a role she continued proudly for 47 years.

The 48th Chapter IODE has as its charter, granted by the Commanding Officer Lt. Col. D.M. Robertson,  the support of the 48th Highlanders which they have done faithfully in both peace and war.
