Combined artillery- air strafing drove Germans from Regalbuto.
British Infantry made a series of night assaults against the Town of Regalbuto (west of Catania and Palermo) with heavy air bombardment (mostly American) and artillery bombardment in support. In the morning it was found that this had driven German troops out of the town except for a few snipers. Royal Engineers entered searching for mines and booby traps as they went.
