48th Highlander woollen glengarry with a checkered pattern band of red-white-black squares, red pompom on top, and black swallow-tail ribbons at end. On one side of the glengarry is a square patch of black fabric with a silver-colour 48th buckle-pattern cap badge with a scroll beneath with engraved text reading: “OLD COMRADES ASSOCIATION”, and is attached to the glen from the inside by a long cotter pin.
