Small informational book with coloured images of the uniforms and rank symbols of each of the NATO member nations’ armed forces, divided by nation and branches. The front cover of the book has text reading from the top: “CURRENT AFFAIRS FOR THE CANADIAN FORCES NATO ALLIES Bureau of Current Affairs Department of National Defence, Ottawa, Canada”. The top part of the cover has a blue background under the title, with centre images of a yellow and orange pennant with the text “NATO” and “ALLIES” on each respectively. On the back cover has images of the flags of the member nations of NATO, flag of the United Nations, and a caption under each flag with the name of the nation. In alphabetical order, the member nations are: Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Turkey, United Kingdom, and United States.
Of note, Greece and Turkey are listed as members and both countries joined in February 1952, but not West Germany who joined in May 1955. The book likely then is produced between these years of 1952 and 1955.
