Black and white post card with an image of a river and cliff. The foreshore is made up of a flat, table rock formation. The cliff is partially forested, while the summit is completely forested. There are adults standing on the foreshore with children playing nearby. A tributary to the river can be seen in the lower left corner of the image.
The writing on the reverse of the image describes the scene as the location of an assault course that was a part of the writer’s training.
The full text reads:
This, sweet, is a picture of part of the assault course – we swim across the river and climb up that cliff by hanging on to ropes – I climbed that bloody cliff 12 times one day.
According to notes provided with the donation, the post card was from Major Wright to his wife: Elizabeth Warren Wright.
