Major John Eardley Wilmot Wright D.S.O., Photo in Battledress and Wellington Boots

Black and white image of Major Wright, who appears to be a lieutenant at the time, standing beside an unidentified officer . Major Wright is wearing battledress and a balmoral bonnet. Slung over his right shoulder is a wide webbing strap with slider buckles, which looks like the strap of a respirator bag. He is also wearing Wellington boots. His blouse is open at the neck and he is wearing a collared shirt with a tie. His shoulder straps appear to have a pair of lieutenant’s pips.

The officer standing next to him also appears to be a lieutenant. He is also wearing battle dress, In addition to battledress, he is wearing a wedge cap and standard anklets, both of which suggests he is not a 48th Highlander officer. He, too, is wearing a respirator bag slung over his right shoulder.

In the background is a single story building and several trees.

There are no markings on the image side of the photograph.

Someone has written 6 in pencil on the reverse side of the image.
