Major John Eardley Wilmot Wright D.S.O. 1937 Pattern Battle Dress Blouse

British 1937 Pattern Battle Dress Blouse belonging to Major John Eardley Wilmot Wright, D.S.O. On the left breast, the blouse displays the ribbons for the Distinguished Service Order, 1939-1945 Star, Italy Star, France Germany Star, Defence Medal, War Medal, and the Canadian Voluntary Service Medal with Clasp.

Both shoulder straps display a cloth Tudor Crown badge (white and khaki on a red background), corresponding to the rank of Major.

Both shoulders display a blue cloth badge with the words 48th Highlanders of Canada in red letters.

Just above the right cuff are 5 inverted red chevrons and 1 inverted white chevron (bottom most). The red chevrons were awarded for each complete year of service after 10 September, 1939. The white chevron indicates service prior to 10 September, 1939.

The blouse appears to be identical to standard issue for other ranks, with no distinguishing marks on the inside beyond the C broad arrow stamp in blue ink.
