LCol Bent, DSO with 15th Battalion Officers after The Somme, 26 Sept. 1916

A black and white photograph of the 15th Battalion officers taken after the battle of The Somme, 26th September 1916 . With their uniforms still covered with the mud of the Somme battlefield, officers of the 15th Battalion pose with Colonel Bent, who succeeded LCol Marshall as Commanding Officer. Standing are Captains A.C. Futcher and R. M. Shaw and Lieutenant W. Proudfoot. Seated are Captain J. H. Chipman and Lieutenant-Colonel C.E. Bent, DSO. In front Major W. Mavor, MC Officer Commanding No. 3. Company. The 15th Battalion lost 117 dead and 273 wounded on that day.
