Photocopies of pages of a diary written by LCol. J.A. Currie, contents of which are a number of drafts of letters and list of soldiers with marking of their status, all from after the 2nd Battle of Ypres, kept inside a manila file folder. On the top of multiple letter drafts, he writes as a title and location “In the Trenches”.
Summary of the letters are:
- Written on April 29th, 1915, a few days after the battle, to the General Officer Commanding 3rd Canadian Infantry Brigade, an after action report of the battle order of the regiment, types of defences, actions during the battle, an initial casualty report, and mention of names to be submitted for honours.
- List of names for special mention and brief information on their actions during the battle.
- List of all members of the 15th battalion separated by sections with a checklist of their status as either: Hospital, Wounded, Killed, Rejoined, and a space for remarks.
