Epaulettes – Gold Shoulder Cords – LCol A.A. Miller

Set of twin 5-turn twisted gold shoulder cord epaulettes of bullion wire belonging to LCol Armour A. Miller, with a single rank pip on top, signifying the rank of 2nd Lieutenant, in a star shape done by embroidery and made up of metal beads, metal plates, and string on fabric backing, and red fabric cloth backing on the reverse side of the shoulder cord. One shoulder cord has a screwed in round brass button with the words “48 Highlanders” on the front and an image of a falcon head, and the back of the button is a screw to attach into a threaded hole in the bottom loop of the cord. Second cord also has a round brass button loosely attached to bottom, though lacking a backing threaded post. On both cords, on the backside near the top is a threaded screw hole going through to the inside of the top loop of the cord. These cords are worn on full dress uniforms.
