Dileas by Kim Beattie – Sgt Lloyd Tucker copy

Dileas by Kim Beattie with dust cover and overwrapped in clear plastic. Dileas is the history of the 48th Highlanders of Canada from 1928 to 1956 with focus on the 1st Battalion overseas from 1939 to 1945. Inside front cover is a hand drawn map of northern Europe and England showing the route of the 1st Battalion in 1939, 1940 to France, 1943 departure to Sicily and 1945 departure from Leghorn Italy to Holland. Inside rear cover is the map of the Sicily and Italy campaigns 1943 to 1945.

Signed by Sgt Lloyd Tucker, a drummer in the Pipes and Drums after the war. Articles from newspapers on the launch of the book, a writeup on Kim Beattie and Beattie’s obituary have been inserted between the rear pages by Tucker.
