Colourized photograph of the coronation procession of Queen Elizabeth II passing on the street in front of the Canada House building in London, UK, on June 2, 1953. The photograph is laminated on framed on a white plastic backing with a brass metal name plate below the photo with blue text printed on it which reads: “CORONATION, ELIZABETH II Casey can be seen centre facing camera, sword down, in the illustrious company of the Royal Coach, Sun Life and Canada Buildings and Lord Nelson.”
Much of the photograph’s background, in the left and centre, features prominently the Canada House, and visible on the front face of the building near the centre of it above the columns are the words: “SUN LIFE ASSISTANCE COMPANY OF CANADA”. Further in the background on the right side of the image is the Lord Nelson column in Trafalgar Square. The foreground of the image is a street lined with onlookers and a row of soldiers and police, one of which is LCol. KCB Casey, who is seen near the bottom left with a white sash and sword in hand, and in the very front is a team of horses pulling the golden Royal Coach escorted by Queen’s Guard on foot alongside and on horse behind.
