Consecration of Colours -1928

Consecration of the new Colours presented to the 48th Highlanders on 24 May 1925. This second Stand of Colours, consisting of the Sovereign’s Colour and a Regimental Colour, had 10 of the 21 Battle Honours awarded to the 48th for the First World War emblazoned on the Regimental Colour in 1927. The consecration ceremony was held in 1928 on the grounds of University of Toronto.  The first Stand of Colours were hung in St. Andrew’s Church, the regimental church since the unit’s founding in 1891.
