A series of black phonograph records in semi-translucent brown wax paper sleeves inside browned manila paper sleeves from the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) dated October 16th, 1941 and covering the 50th anniversary celebrations of the founding of the 48th Highlanders regiment, which were held on October 12th, 1941, while they were overseas in Redhill, Surrey, England. In the centre of the discs are paper labels with details of the discs, there are 7 in total on the 4 discs, some of the discs are double sided with alternating numbers, to be played and flipped in a stack format. The labels all have a template printed on them with dotted lines and text that reads: “CANADIAN BROADCASTING CORPORATION – Program No. Time Title R.P.M Date Use Special Needles for Acetate Start Inside Maximum Pressure Needle Point for Most Result is 2 1/4 Ounces Recorded AT ”
On all discs there is writing with pencil on the lines with the details reading from top to bottom: “5221”, the separate numbers one(“1”) to seven(“7”) on the 7 labels for the program number, “anniversary of 48th Highlanders” for the title, r.p.m number of “78”, date of “OCT – 16th 1941”, “TORONTO” as recording location, and a signature at the bottom.
