92nd Battalion CEF “B” Company – 1915 Camp Niagara

The 92nd Battalion, was authorized on July 30, 1915, and recruited and mobilized in Toronto, Ontario. The battalion embarked for Britain in May 1916 and provided reinforcements to the Canadian Corps in France. It was turned into a reinforcement and training battalion and renamed 5th Reserve Battalion on September 1, 1917.

Camp Niagara, located in Niagara-on-the-Lake, served as a crucial military training ground during World War I. It was initially used for training the Second Division of the Canadian Expeditionary Force when the war began in 1914. Later, in 1917, it became Camp Kościuszko, a training centre for Polish volunteers from Canada and the United States who were recruited to fight in France.
