Shortly after the Armistice of 11 November, 1918, the 15th Battalion (48th Highlanders) marched into Germany. From 13 November to 16 December they marched: through France, then Belgium, across the German border, finally stopping at Ehreshoven on the 16th to hold the Cologne bridgehead. Their Colours arrived from Canada via England to lead them home, marching from the bridgehead on 7 January. Following a short stay in England, they boarded the Baltic at Liverpool to sail to Halifax.
