48th CDF Bn Recruiting Drive in USA – 1917

The Mayor of New York City addresses troops at 48th Highlanders CDF Bn recruitment parade, with 236 Bn in New York in 1917. The 48th Highlanders sent a contingent and their Pipe Band and Military Band as part of a Canadian Forces recruiting drive in New York City, Chicago  and Newark in 1917, seeking enlistment in the Canadian Expeditionary Force overseas in WWI. The USA had yet to participate in the war.
