Toronto Railway Company Strike, 21 – 23 June 1902

The Pioneer section of the 48th Highlanders awaits orders in case new riots break out against the Toronto Railway Company. It would be the battalion’s first time serving under Aid to the Civil Power. Dress was “Drill Order with Haversacks, great coats in readiness.” They were issued 10 rounds of ball ammunition. Captain J.A. Currie commanded the 48th until Major D.M. Robertson arrived.
