General Sir Ian Hamilton GCB, GCMG, DSO,  in glengarry and trews inspecting troops of the 48th Highlanders 1st Battalion at the 50th Anniversary parade of the 48th Highlanders of Canada at Redhill, Surrey, England on  12 October, 1941.  General Hamilton, of the Gordon Highlanders, was Honourary Lieutenant Colonel of the 48th Highlanders from 1911 to 1947. Note that the censors have erased the shoulder titles of the regiment to prevent the enemy from knowing the location and type of Canadian troops in England.
