1st Bn, 48th Highlanders on train departing; final wave to family.

The 1st Battalion, 48th Highlanders trained on the Canadian National Exhibition grounds, with barracks in Horse Palace, from mid September 1939 until their departure by CN Train on 17 December from Toronto to Halifax where they embarked on the Reina del Pacifico as part of the convoy of the 1st Canadian Division to England.P1358
