Two members of the 1st Bn, 48th Highlanders, showing child mechanisms of firearm at the Horse Palace on the  Canadian National Exhibition grounds. From mid September the battalion trained out of the Horse Palace then departed by CN train on 17 December 1939 to Halifax where they embarked on the Reina del Pacifico as part of the convoy to England of the 1st Canadian Division. The photo shows  Pte Bud Lloyd and Cpl. Nat. McConnach. P1365
