Self-guided tour app
Whether you are at home or in person at the museum, take a deep dive into our collections, learn our history, and appreciate our currently serving soldiers. You can view all of our displays or use keywords to select just those displays that interest you. For each display, you will see:
- One or more photos of the display.
- An overview of the content of the display.
- A listing of the artifacts in the display. You can click on an artifact and read a detailed description of it and see a photo. Some artifacts include links to related artifacts and / or Highlanders. We have even flagged selected artifacts which we think will be of particular interest.
- For some displays we have provided links to other pages on the site or other web sites which will provide more information related to the display.
While the app uses information from the web site, the only way to view the tour is to install it on your device. Our app is optimized for those using mobile devices. It’s perfect for those who bring a tablet to the museum. However, it can also install an icon on your PC or Mac so that you can view the tour again and again. The app can also be used off line: however, the only displays that you can see are ones you have already visited.
